Books to Love: I'm Judging You by Luvvie Ajayi
Sometimes it's okay to judge.
In 238 pages, Luvvie Ajayi perfectly captures our shady inner thoughts with I'm Judging You. Luvvie's debut novel is basically what you get when Twitter let's you go over 150 characters. She brilliantly and hilariously covers it all, from the Facebook oversharer to the unnecessary use of Comic Sans (yes, the font!) Ajayi also dives into serious topics such as Women and LGBT rights, the Black Lives Matter Movement and even sexual assault. I'm Judging You will make you sit back and question whether you have ever committed any of the offenses she listed. If you are guilty, it is an opportunity to reevaluate.
As a Nigerian, I related to a lot of the experiences Ajayi shared. Being able to identify with her on so many topics left my book copy full of post-it notes and folded pages. Basically the entire Culture section had me saying "YASSS," a little to loudly.
The novel is broken into four parts: Life, Culture, Social Media and Fame. Each part will have you laughing out loud then shaking your head. I'm Judging You is brilliant and a must read!
