My Makeup Favs
I am, by no means, a beauty guru but I do love makeup. When I was 18, I would say that I'd never wear makeup. I didn't want to depend on it and I never wanted to feel ugly without it. I started wearing makeup a year after I made that statement and my makeup kit has evolved immensely. I mean, I only discovered the importance of filling in my eyebrows 4 years ago (growth). I do wear makeup everyday but I don't depend on it to make me feel beautiful. Makeup enhances my beauty and sometimes I want to look glamorous, so bring on the eyeliner! Sacha Cosmetics, Buttercup Setting Powder- Baking is completely new to me but I get why the beauty gurus do it. It's not something I do everyday (I don't have the time) but when I'm going to a big event, I bake. I use Sacha Buttercup to set my foundation. It keeps my makeup matte and there's no ashy flashback. It's perfect for women of color!
MILK MAKEUP, Blur Stick- I don't have huge pores but this blur stick gives my face a smooth base before I apply my makeup. It does what it promises and it comes on clear, which is perfect for my skin tone.
FENTY BEAUTY by Rihanna, Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longer Foundation, Color 440- Rihanna came all the way through with her new makeup line. I love this foundation! It is light and doesn't look cakey. It's perfect for the everyday look. I have an oily T-zone and the first day I wore this, it stayed matte all day. FENTY BEAUTY is my new obsession.
ColourPop, Pressed Powder Highlighter, Bae Area- I usually go to ColourPop for lip products but I recently decided to try the highlighter. I love it. It's not too much but it's enough to have my face looking real glossy.
MAC, Powder Blush, Pinch Me- I've been using Pinch Me since junior year in college. It's neutral and it's perfect for my everyday look.
NARS, Soft Matte Complete Concealer, Amande- This concealer matches me perfectly. It's not too bright under the eyes and has red undertones that complement my skin tone.
Anastasia Beverly Hills, Brow Wiz, Ebony- The only product I put on my eyebrows. Point. Period. Blank.
Benefit Cosmetics, They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara- I started using They're Real about five years ago. I love it! I don't wear fake lashes (because I can't put them in) and this mascara makes my eye lashes pop as if I was wearing falsies.
Tarte, Tarteist™ Creamy Matte Lip Paint, Birthday Suit- This lip paint came with the free birthday gift from Sephora and when I run out I am running to Sephora to get the full product. I love layering it with my NYX lip cream.
Iman, Lip Shimmer Lip Gloss, Muse- I don't wear gloss often (I'm more into the matte look) but when I do I love this Iman lip gloss from Target. Very Affordable and there's a soft tint to it that makes my nudes lipsticks pop.
NYX, Soft Matte Lip Cream, Abu Dhabi- This is my favorite lip product. I wear it every day layered with a bunch of other products but every nude lip I've ever done involved this NYX lip cream.
Juvia's Place, Nubian Eye Shadow Palette- I LOVE THIS Palette! It's closed in this photo because I have worn it out! I use the neutral shades in this palette EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Juvia's Place, The Saharan Palette- Once in a blue moon, I like to try bold makeup looks and for me bold means anything other than brown and gold. This palette is the perfect transition for me to using more color when it comes to eyeshadows. I love the shades of red!
