The 90's Are All That with AbbyOllie.com | Part II
As we sat on some stranger's stoop in Brooklyn, I thought of the movie Crooklyn. It is one of the earliest movies I can remember watching and I remember a particular scene where the screen tilted and everything was a blur. That scene stuck with me, as a kid, because of the "cool" effects, unknowing that drugs were involved. Spike Lee created such a relatable film and when I first saw it, I saw kids like me enjoying their summer. Representation matters and Crooklyn was the movie I needed as a kid. If you've never seen Crooklyn, do yourself a favor and watch it.
